Toy Fox Terrier Rescue, Inc. (TFTR) is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2009 as a nationwide, all volunteer, breed-specific group dedicated to re-homing TFTs who need new homes, whether they are strays or their owners can no longer care for them.
Each dog that enters our rescue program is either kept with the Owner until a new home is found or is fostered in a private home. TFTR does not operate a kennel. While the dog is in the foster home, he or she is evaluated for personality, quirks and manners/training. The foster family assesses whether the dog will do well with other dogs and/or cats and/or children, and whether the dog would be best suited to be an only dog. Medical treatment is provided as needed - the dog is brought up-to-date on all shots, is heartworm tested, and if not already done, is spayed or neutered. Then the process of matching the right dog with the right family begins. We hope that you will join us in our journey to help all TFTs thrive in loving, forever homes.
